Faces of Death

‘Faces of Death’, an exploitation film written by John Alan Schwartz (credited as Alan Black) was released in 1978 and has since gone on to be known as one of the most graphic and disturbing films ever made. For the past 38 years it has been a must-see for connoiseurs of the macabre as the entire movie is comprised of videos depicting “real” death and extreme violence. Despite its reputation, many of the scenes have been discovered to be fakes (an estimated 40% of the movie, minimum) over time. John Alan Schwartz even makes an uncredited cameo in the film as the leader of an alleged flesh-eating cult. Still, this film is not for the faint of heart and most definitely worth a watch. Although some of the segments may be fake, many are still believed to be actual footage of death.
